Stylings for the Bride
The way a woman looks for her wedding is very important to her. Of course, every bride wants to look her absolute best. When choosing a hair style there are many things to be considered. You want to look your best, you want your hair style to compliment your gown and your wedding style.
What’s in a Style?
Your hair style should complement your style. You want friends and family to look at wedding photos and recognize you. If your hair makes you look completely different than usual, you probably won’t be happy in the end. If you normally wear your hair down, then your wedding day style should have at least some of your hair down. If you are a ponytail girl, then you should choose an updo. Your best style is one that compliments your personal style. This will ensure that you are comfortable on your wedding day and comfortable with the style!
Who Should You Trust?
If the stylist you choose for your wedding is not your usual stylist, or even if he/she is, you may want to schedule a trial run of your hair style. In the trial run they will work with you to perfect the style you want for your wedding. A hair trial may set your mind at ease when it comes to your hair style, which will lower your stress for the big day!
What to look for in a stylist?
When choosing a new hair stylist, you should look for someone who is reputable. A licensed cosmatologist would be a safe bet, and a reputable salon will only hire stylists who are licensed. Many salons now have websites, which are complete with bios on their stylists. You can choose the one you feel most comfortable with, or one who specializes in your hair type. An industry professional suggested that a wise idea would be to ask if their stylists attend regular training classes on updos to stay current and use new techniques. You can also ask to see a stylist’s portfolio. Most stylists have photos of previous customers and seeing examples of work they have done will help you decide if they are the stylist for you, as well as give you some ideas for your style.
Before you book...
Most of the time price is a good indicator of service. If the stylist you are talking to seems to good to be true, do more research. Make sure that the salon you choose will have availability for all of your wedding party. You will have to book your appointments ahead of time to ensure openings for all of your party. Also, remember to allow plenty of time for all of your salon services. You don’t want to be sitting in the chair having your hair done when it’s time for your wedding to start! Lastly, remember that word of mouth is always your best indicator. Talk to friends, family, and co-workers. If you know
where other people have had great service, you know you can't go wrong!
