1. Tell us a little about your business.
As a one-man company, I have been doing Super-8 mm film and video of weddings and other special events since the early 1980's, but have become more active after retiring from the Federal Government. As a father, I have based my services on what I would have wanted for my daughter's wedding 10 years ago. As a grandfather, I appreciate the importance of a documentary coverage that captures the natural sounds and events of the entire wedding day. Nothing but video will let you see and hear family and friends as they are/were, even long after they have passed on. My grandchildren are so excited when they see their mother's wedding video; think of my granddaughter's feelings when she watches it on the eve of her own wedding!
2. What areas do you serve?
I am located in Rockville, but serve the entire state of Maryland. I also cover DC, northern Virginia, and even southern Pennsylvania.
3. What makes you stand out?
My personal attention and work ethic, sense of humor, and the assurance that I will both shoot and edit your video myself. My focus is on a quality product; I have a good retirement, so I don't need to sweat every dollar in this business, nor do I worry if I have to spend some extra time to get everything just right. I book no more than one job a weekend, and usually limit myself to no more than two jobs a month.
4. What price range do you fall in to?
My comprehensive all day package including Bridal Prep through final departure with special Highlights is just $1700. Other options start at $1100.
5. What is one piece of advice you have for brides in the wedding planning process?
Audio is the part of video that is often ignored by a non-professional (and even some professionals). Camera mics at a distance fail to get the softly-spoken words. I use multiple microphones and recorders at key locations to insure that you WILL hear your vows, the speakers and singers. Please don't depend on "Uncle Charlie" for such an important treasure. Even if he has a decent camera, will he know where to be to get the best shot or get anything other than faint or muffled audio?
