The Basics

1. Tell us a little about your business.

I have been a special event floral designer for 20 years working mainly in the Baltimore, Washington DC and Virginia areas, however I have done destination weddings when asked. I love challenges.

3. What makes you stand out?

I take great care and proud in the quality of the flowers used and joy in designing flowers in a way that they are both beautiful and meaningful to the client. One example was a couple on a very low budget so we took the engagement event and turned it into a centerpiece for their wedding. They get engagement on the beach under the stars, so the sand from the location was used in the container, a small picket fence was placed in the corner of the container with blue flowers to represent the dunes and then a star fish shell was the center of the sand. The guest loved it and it gave more meaning to their day.

4. What price range do you fall in to?

I can't really say I have a price range as I have done weddings for low budgets and high. The client is really the one who has to decide what is to be spent.

5. What is one piece of advice you have for brides in the wedding planning process?

If I could give advice to couple it would be for them to remember that vendors are their employees not the other way around. That being said they also have to trust the professionals they hire and allow them to do the job they have asked them to do. A vendor can't fix a problem if they don't know there is an issue, so communication is extremely important.
