1. Tell us a little about your business.
We are a completely restored mansion that was originally built in 1811. Our site lends itself beautifully to weddings, meetings and other social functions.
2. What areas do you serve?
Located in Columbia, Maryland, we are accessible to anyone who lives in the Baltimore-Washington corridor. We are right off Routes 29 and 175 and are in close proximity to several hotels, restaurants and the Columbia Mall.
3. What makes you stand out?
In 1811, then a Speaker of Maryland's House of Delegates, Charles Sterrett Ridgely, constructed Oakland as a country home to supplement his town home in Baltimore. Originally built in the federal style by Abraham Lerew, a Baltimore housewright, Oakland is now a blend of the Federal, Greek Revival and Colonial Revival periods.
4. What price range do you fall in to?
Depending upon the day, our prices range from $25 per hour for meetings, to $2100.00 for Saturday evening events. We can accommodate up to 200 guests depending upon the type of event.
5. What is one piece of advice you have for brides in the wedding planning process?
Our best advice to brides is to remember that at the end of the evening you WILL be married and that is your ultimate goal. Everything else is “fluff”, so don’t get upset over little things.
